The Randolph Singers

Celebrating Our 41st Year

Spring Semester Begins February 2

Rehearsals for the spring semester begin Tuesday, February 2.  All people who love to sing in a community chorus are invited and encouraged to participate. The music for this spring chosen by director Lindsey Warren goes back to the roots and founding of the Singers – selections from Broadway shows. Rehearsals are held every Tuesday at the Baptist Fellowship, Rt. 66, Randolph, begin promptly at 7:00 p.m. (come earlier to “meet and greet”) and end at 9:00 p.m.

The Randolph Singers was founded in 1968 by a dozen or so area residents when the local PTA wanted to sponsor a Broadway show to raise funds. The show they chose to perform was Gilbert and Sullivan’s “Pirates of Penzance.” The Randolph Singers is now comprised of approximately 40 area residents from towns ranging from Montpelier to Norwich.

The Randolph Singers are a non-auditioned chorus, rehearse weekly and perform two concerts annually, in December and May. The Randolph Singers are led by director, singer, performer Lindsey Warren of Norwich, Vermont; the accompanist is longtime musician and teacher Marta Borgstrom of Randolph.

The mission of the Randolph Singers is to provide an opportunity for anyone who loves to sing the opportunity to do just that in a community chorus; and, secondly, to enrich the cultural opportunities for the greater Randolph communities by performing its music at a minimum of two concerts annually. To fulfill that goal, the Singers will present its concerts free of charge when possible, instead accepting freewill donations to help offset expenses.
