Board of Directors

Most members of the board are, but not limited to, members of the chorus. Board members serve a three-year term and are eligible for reelection. A few directors have served for several terms while others are in their first term. The directors are elected by the membership at the Singers’ annual meeting held in the spring. The officers are elected annually by the board; the By-Laws of the Randolph Singers call for seven to nine directors. The board generally meets before, during and following each semester. New directors are welcomed and members are encouraged to express their interest to any of the directors.

The role of the board is to establish the overall organization, direction and policies of  the Randolph Singers, and to hire the Music Director and Conductor. The board is especially responsible for marketing, membership recruitment, public relations, publicity and fundraising needs of the Singers. The Music Director is responsible for the musical direction and conduction of the Randolph Singers, working within the framework established by the Board.
